I'm afraid to say that our lodger, Sid, has had to be rehomed with another family in the village.  We were all set to keep him and we had contacted the vets we use who were going to keep hold of him next week while they used their methods to try and trace an owner.  If they were unsuccessful, after the week, we would be registered as his owners and they would neuter him. However, yesterday we had an incident which meant a change of plans. Our next door neighbour has a rescue dog, and, whilst we were out in the afternoon, Sid went into her conservatory and started to eat her dogs food.  The dog went crazy and if she hadn't been there to grab him he would have seriously attacked Sid.  She was very shook up by it all and as you just can't control where cats go, and we don,t want to fall out with our neighbours, we have had to find somewhere else for him to live.  Luckily, when we were trying to trace Sid's owners on our village facebook group, someone else said they would take him in if needed so we managed to get a phone number for them and we have just dropped him off at his new home at the top of our village.  They have no pets, but have had cats in the past, and there are no dogs living near them so it will work out for the best. It has all been very stressful and there have been tears and disappointed girls but it is what it is.

Apart from that I have been packing for our week in Cornwall - we go tomorrow lunchtime.  I am so looking forward to our holiday and the weather forecast is looking promising, so it will be nice chilling out on the beach, having a few meals out and a few cheeky glasses of wine.  I will try and remember to take plenty of photos to share when I am back.

  1. What a pity you can't keep Sid! But as you say it's better to have a good relationship with neighbours.

Have a nice week in Cornwall!

  4. What a handsome puss. Such a shame you couldn't keep Sid but the main thing is that he's got a loving home. I hope you had a lovely holiday in Cornwall, it's a few years now since we've been and I miss it. Looking forward to hearing all about it.

    1. The girls were very disappointed about Sid but it just was not to be and the couple he has gone to live with are lovely. We had a great holiday and I am just going to start the mammoth job of trying to write a post about it all!

My Mondays to Fridays tend to be very samey hence why I've been quiet the last couple of weeks. It's a very dull routine of getting...
